Phillipe Loren

The sophisticated head of the Syndicate who rules Steelport's Morningstar division.

Phillipe Loren

Phillipe Loren is the head of an international criminal enterprise called "the Syndicate" in Saints Row: The Third. He is voiced by Jacques Hennequet. Loren first appears when he bails out the 3rd Street Saints after they are arrested robbing a bank in Stilwater that he owned. He holds the Boss, Shaundi, and Johnny Gat captive aboard his jumbo jet, offering them a deal to give him most of their profits in exchange for their lives. After the Saints refuse and stage a breakout, Gat is shot and killed by Loren himself while trying to escape. In response, Loren orders the Syndicate to attack the Saints and ensure their empire is destroyed.

Lore & Background

Phillipe Loren leads the Syndicate, an international crime organization that firmly rules the city of Steelport. His specific division within the Syndicate is the Morningstar, a sophisticated gang that dominates the gun and sex trades. Loren's lieutenants are twin sisters Viola and Kiki DeWynter. After the Saints refuse his deal and escape his jumbo jet, Loren orders the Syndicate to destroy the Saints' empire. The Saints ultimately track Loren to his own skyscraper and kill him there. Following his death, Eddie "Killbane" Pryor—leader of the Luchadores division—becomes the de facto leader of the Syndicate, though a direct succession is never explicitly stated in canon.

In Their Own Story

The jumbo jet hummed at cruising altitude, its cabin filled with the quiet tension of a deal gone wrong. Phillipe Loren, immaculate in his suit, watched the Saints with the cold patience of a man who owned everything in sight — including the bank they had just robbed. 'Give me most of your profits,' he offered, 'in exchange for your lives.' The Boss refused, and the cabin erupted into chaos. Gat held the line, buying time with his life as the Boss and Shaundi escaped into the night. From his skyscraper in Steelport, Loren directed the Morningstar's operations until the Saints breached his tower and ended his reign.

Reader's Guide

Phillipe Loren is the primary antagonist of the Syndicate storyline in Saints Row: The Third. He appears early in the game during the opening bank heist mission and subsequent escape from his jet. Players encounter his operations throughout Steelport, particularly through the Morningstar gang. The mission to assassinate Loren takes place in his skyscraper, where players must fight through his forces to reach him. Killing Loren is a major turning point in the story, as it triggers Killbane's rise to power and the subsequent events involving the Luchadores and S.T.A.G.
